Wedding Simplicity is Key – 19/06/2013

I’m about half way through my relaxing holiday in beautiful, sunny Cyprus. Today two of my sisters and I went to Protaras to have a look at a couple of the venues I had been considering, which I outlined in the last blog post.

We went to see Grecian Park Hotel and it is absolutely stunning. It is already booked up for April’s Easter break, so our chosen time of year would have to be reconsidered if we wanted to have our wedding here.

We then went to see the Grecian Sands Hotel, which is not far and I think it is part of the same hotel chain. This hotel is also beautiful and the on site wedding planner is great.

After that we decided that we had had enough of wedding venues and we decided to head to the beach for a swim, some tanning and a snack.

That night I discussed the venues further with Mum and Dad and during our discussions I discovered that although a beach wedding would be absolutely stunning, I still feel that it would be too much. I would much prefer something simpler than that. Something along the lines of a registry office marriage in the UK with immediate family and then we could plan an evening party and invite extended family and friends. Do we need anything more than that?

I feel that wedding simplicity is key and I can’t think of any way to make it simpler than that. That would also take some of the pressure of it being a big wedding day off both of us (neither of whom like to be the centre of attention!).

Just need to run this by Groom. Fingers crossed for me!
